A starving feelin.
Since I finished Slaughter House Five I've had this hunger feeling in my head. I want to satisfy this hunger so I found myself in Copperfields looking for something to satisfy my hunger. I don't think I've had this feeling of wanting to read so badly before. let's face it I read everyday. Im constantly bombarded by the Internet, cell phones, advertising, but none of that in gauges my brain like these past few novels. I guess I could call it a thirst for wanting more. More reading, more conversations, more education, more writing, and more engagement!

In the past two years the same thing has happened to me! I NEED to learn everything I can. Whether it's relevant to my life directly or not. An urge I can't control I ask questions, read everything reading I can, I engage in deep conversation. Just recently by reading The Giver I've become overwhelmed with this Hunger that your talking about. I want to read all the time! It's pretty cool hearing someone else with the same feeling.
ReplyDeleteFirst--really glad to hear that the novels have been sparking something in you. And, well, no surprise, I of course don't just "like" this post..."love" it.
ReplyDeleteVonnegut is pretty amazing and will do that to a person. He had a knack for breaking through the usual pretense of our culture.
Take that hunger and keep doing what you are doing--read, read anything, read everything.
